Know the price
before you fly.

Cross-border care is cheaper for reasons that have nothing to do with quality. The part nobody shows you is the arithmetic — so that is what we lead with.

How a provider gets listed

4 checks run automatically.
4 still need a person.

Most marketplaces show you a verified badge and stop there. Here is the actual state of each check, including the ones we have not automated.

  1. Medical licence

    Automated

A verified, non-expired licence must be on file. Enforced in application code and again by a database constraint, so no admin action can bypass it.

  2. Malpractice insurance

    Automated

An active policy of at least $1,000,000 in coverage, checked against its effective and expiry dates.

  3. Background check

    Automated

A provider carrying a flagged background check cannot be listed.

  4. NPI registry (NPPES)

    Automated

Looked up live against the CMS national provider registry at npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov.

  5. Exclusion screening (OIG / NPDB)

    Manual review

No automated feed yet. Routed to a human reviewer rather than recorded as clean.

  6. Sanctions screening (OFAC)

    Manual review

No automated feed yet. Routed to a human reviewer.

  7. Facility accreditation (JCI)

    Manual review

Confirmed by a reviewer against the accrediting body, not by an API.

  8. Identity verification

    Manual review

Reviewed by a person until the automated integration is live.

The rule that matters: A check we cannot perform against an authoritative source is never recorded as a pass. It becomes a manual review, and the provider stays unlisted until a person completes it.

We're verifying providers before anyone can book them.

A provider cannot appear here until their licence and malpractice cover have been checked — enforced in the database, not by policy. Nobody is listed yet, so nobody is shown.

Verified providers — not yet

We are onboarding the first providers one procedure and destination at a time, rather than listing everyone and sorting it out later. Tell us what treatment you need and we will put your case in front of the providers verified for it — and tell you when that happens.

Benchmarks help you research. A provider's answer helps you decide.

The prices above are published averages, not quotes. Tell us about your case once and verified providers who can treat it will answer with their own.

  1. Describe what you need

The treatment, where you're travelling from and roughly when. No account, and nothing about your medical history — that stays out of it until a provider needs it and you agree to share it.

  2. Verified providers review it

Your case goes to providers whose licence and malpractice cover we've checked and who treat that procedure. They see what you need, not who you are.

  3. Compare what comes back

Offers arrive itemised — what's included, what isn't, how long you'd stay, what happens if there are complications, and what cancelling costs. Side by side, on one screen.

Request treatment options

Takes about a minute. No account needed to start.

Compare more than the headline price.

One of these quotes is fifteen hundred dollars cheaper. It also leaves out the prosthesis and says nothing about how long you would be in hospital. Offers are broken into the same categories so that difference is visible instead of buried.

Choosing a provider doesn't book anything or take payment. You pick a date next, and nothing is charged until you confirm.

Know what happens to your money.

Not a badge — the actual sequence, and the point at which the provider is paid.

  1. You accept an offer

Nothing is charged. You pick a treatment date with the provider first.

  2. You confirm the booking

Payment is collected — the treatment price, the coordination fee and card processing, itemised before you agree to any of it.

  3. Between booking and treatment

The provider is not paid. If you cancel, what you get back follows the cancellation terms stated on the offer you accepted — not a policy invented afterwards.

  4. After treatment

You confirm your care is complete. The provider's payout is released after that, or after a short grace period if nobody raises anything.

  5. If something goes wrong

You can open a dispute before the payout is released, and it is held while that is resolved.

The coordination fee is $199–$549, fixed by procedure complexity and never a percentage of what your care costs. The full terms, including cancellation and refunds.

Reviews tell you how someone felt. Outcomes tell you what happened.

After treatment we ask patients the same questions at thirty, ninety and a hundred and eighty days: how the result was, whether recovery matched what they were told, and whether anything went wrong.

Outcome data — not yet

No treatment has been booked through this platform yet, so there is nothing to report and nothing is shown. When there is, a figure is published for a provider and procedure only once at least 20 patients have answered and at least 40% of those asked replied — and it will always appear beside how many were asked and how many answered. A rate without its denominator is the thing these rules exist to prevent.

What we will not do with it

  • Reduce it to a star rating. A single score hides whether the question was about the result, the recovery or the care.
  • Rank providers clinically. Outcome data describes what happened to other patients; it is not a prediction about you, and treating it as one would be practising medicine.
  • Publish a figure without its sample. Below the thresholds above, the honest answer is that we do not know yet.
FAQ

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about medical tourism.

A provider cannot list until a valid medical licence and active malpractice cover are on file — enforced in the application and again by a database constraint, so it cannot be skipped. Some checks, including exclusion and sanctions screening and facility accreditation, cannot yet be run against an authoritative source. Those go to a human reviewer and are recorded as pending review, never as passed.

The provider pays a fixed coordination fee when a booking is confirmed, set by procedure complexity and never a share of what your care costs. You pay the treatment price and card processing. We are not paid more when you choose a more expensive provider, and placement is never for sale.

No. Prices on this site are published benchmarks — averages drawn from public datasets, useful for working out whether travelling is worth considering at all. A real number for your case comes from a provider who has read it. That is what requesting treatment options gets you.

Payment is collected when you confirm a booking, and the provider is not paid at that point. Their payout is released after your treatment is confirmed complete, or after a short grace period. If you raise a dispute first, it is held while that is resolved. Funds are not held in a segregated or trust account, and we do not describe ourselves as an escrow agent.

Every offer states what it includes, what it excludes, how long you would need to stay, and what happens if there are complications. If a provider needs to change the plan after you have accepted, that is a new offer you have to accept — the price cannot move underneath you.

Each offer states its follow-up policy, and that is the commitment you are agreeing to. Structured outcome follow-up at set intervals after treatment is something we intend to publish with its sample size and methodology; it is not running yet, and we would rather say so than imply data we do not have.

No, and we removed the feature that came closest to looking like it. Heyzl does not diagnose, does not recommend a treatment, and does not rank providers by clinical suitability for you. We verify who providers are, route your case to the ones who treat that procedure, and organise what they send back so you can compare it. The clinical decision is between you and a clinician.

A review can only be left against a completed booking made through the platform, so it is tied to care that demonstrably happened. There is no way to buy one, and a provider cannot remove a review they dislike.

Not to browse, not to compare benchmark costs, and not to start describing your case. You are asked to register at the point providers would see your case — because that is when your information leaves your own screen.
